[html4all] Editor Resignation?

Hello 4all,

I just like to point out a few other things. The HTML WG’s charter
calls for the mailing list to the be the primary channel for technical
discussions[1]. To me this implies that this is where the editor will
engage with the WG to learn how to edit the draft deliverable on the
WG’s behalf.

Mike Smith has said he wants bugzilla to serve as a place where anyone
from the public (in other words those not in the HTML WG) can post
issues with the HTML draft.

Finally add to that that Hixie now says: “the two ways to guarantee i
see feedback at this point are to mail whatwg or to put it in
bugzilla”[2], and it sounds to me that Hixie no longer wishes to serve
as the editor for the HTML WG. If that’s the case I wish he would
submit a formal resignation rather than going through the motions of
pretending to be an HTML WG editor. I don't really know what to make
of this, but perhaps some of you more seasoned with the W3C, can make
sense of this.

Take care,
Rob
