Talk:New Logos Archive and discussion page
From html4all
Hi,
Thanks for adding the other images to the page. They're all quite nice. I don't want to have to choose. --RBurns 04:14, 24 August 2007 (PDT)
Some info on logos
As Rob said on the Main Talk page, the first use of the new logo will probably be in this Wiki. It will occupy the reserved space"Set $wgLogo to the URL path to your own logo "image".
Most good logos all share one thing, simplicity. That simplicity usually results in a design that is easily readable, reproducible and scalable. It is simple enough for any size.
There's usually not room for much detail or color. The type and/or symbol should have a good size ratio so that they can both be easily seen when reduced. Logos should be designed so that they scale easily and can be used in a variety of mediums: website, t-shirts and etc.
It should work as well in black and white as it does in full color. If the logo doesn't look good in black and white, it won't look good no matter what color scheme you choose.
